It's hard for most Christians to believe the reality that there are people out there who will live their entire lives and never have an opportunity to hear the name of Jesus. But in many parts of the world, this is a stark truth. Even when there are people who are willing to take on the task to reach people like this, physical, cultural, and linguistic barriers can make it nearly impossible to truly connect with isolated people groups.
This is the reality in parts of Thailand.
Pastor Boonchu Pondamrongsap is perfectly positioned to reach some of Thailand's unreached people.
He grew up in the mountains where he now works. He knows the roads, trails, and footpaths like the back of his hand. He has the skills to travel and survive in the jungles that might threaten the lives of lesser trained people.
He is also intimately connected to the people he is trying to reach. Pastor Boonchu is Karen. He understands how Karen people think, work, and live. He grew up speaking both the Karen and Thai languages, and he learned English later in life. He is well placed to bridge the gap between rural Karen villages and the rest of the world.
But...Pastor Boonchu needs your assistance. The travel that is necessary to care for churches in hundreds of small villages is expensive. Helping train and resource Karen pastors and evangelists takes financial resources.
