January Conference Report

The following is a report from the Karen committee that organized the church leader training held January 9-11 in Musikee district, Thailand:

Dear Supporters,

First of all, we would like to thank to God and thanks to you for helping us with the conference by sending financial and the teachers who came to teach us.

All the committees and the Churches leaders of the Karen were very thankful for having the conferences. All the committees and the leaders of the Churches were so happy to hear the teachings about WE ARE GOD’S FOLLOW WORKERS. AND IN THE SAME TIME WE ALSO HAPPY TO HEAR ABOUT TO BE CAREFUL TO GET INVOLVE WITH THE WRONG GROUPS. Please keep praying for us to get this wisdom to understand more about who are the wrong groups, so we can avoid them. God willing if you come and teach us in the future please keep helping us to understand more about the details of the false groups. It was really good that the teachers could help our people to understand more about the power of the Gospel and the Church members have to work together for the sake of the Gospel. It reminds us back from Pastor Tom Muslemen from Cross-gate Church, came to taught us from the conference before this conference in the same place.

Please do understand that we really need your help with the teaching and training as you have been helping us very much. Even though we have been working hard with teaching and training our people through-out the Churches, but we find out that it is not really help our people to grow as they should be, but we found that you come and support with the conferences are really useful and support the works very well.

We know that we should stand by our-selves but we are sorry that we just not being able to stand by our strength yet. We used to think that we would just had to rely on you just for five years in the past, but until now we just cannot yet. Please keep praying for our people to grow in Christ, so we can help the Churches that still young like us.

Please do understand that the way you have been helping us is really important for us, so we thanks to God for touching your hearts and have mercy on us.

We had received

$1,500 received by Remember Nhu from Dave Veldhorst (MTW)
$2,000 received by Remember Nhu from Crossgate Church
$2,000 supposed to be coming from Church if the Savior but has not yet been received.
$1,200 supposed to be coming from Tenth Presbyterian .
Total Received from the US through RememberKhu-Thailand 6,700 USD or 215,780 Baht. The Karen Churches gave 38,094 Baht. So we total received 253,874 Baht.

The details of the Expenses:
The cost of food and drink, is 101,294 Baht.
The cost of the transportations is 150,000 Baht.
The offered for the electricity fee and the place 2,580 Baht (Actually this amount of the money left over from this conference so we made the decision to offer it).

There were 452 people join the conference. This means including some of the local leaders of the 14 Churches in Musekie areas. The reason because the committees of the conference found that the place big enough to hold more people and the money was enough for the food cost of the local leaders of that areas. So they called them to come and join the conference.

The only thing that some of the people arrived late in each conference. We had tried hard to learn about fixing this kind of problem but we can’t really understand how to solve it. The big reason because of the rain. Whenever we have any board conference, it rains at that time and makes people have a hard time to travel.

Actually for this conference we almost got a hundred percent of the group we focusing on. I mean we just missed four of them could not arrived due to they had received the money for transportations too late and plus the rain. So even though they tried hard but could not arrive the conference. Anyway, we thank God and believe that for all things work out according to His plan.
So please pray for the wisdom how to fix this kind of the problem in the future.
